Starter Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. Install the starter (A), then tighten the mounting bolts (B).
    NOTE: Always use a new gasket (C).

  2. Install the lower radiator hose bracket (D) and the dipstick (E).
  3. Connect the positive starter cable (F) and the S terminal connector (G) to the starter, then install the harness clamp (H). Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the starter when you connect it.
  4. Install the battery base (see step 51 under ENGINE INSTALLATION ).
  5. Do the battery installation procedure (see RECONNECTION ).
  6. Install the air intake duct (see FRONT BULKHEAD COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  7. Start the engine to make sure the starter works properly.
