Center Console Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the front seats, the dashboard, or the related parts.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
- Remove these items:
- Center panel (see DASHBOARD CENTER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Console rear trim (see CENTER CONSOLE REAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Gently pull out the center console trim (A) to detach the clips (B, C) and release the holders (D) from the pins (E), then remove the trim.
- Remove the coin holder case (A) and the console mat (B) from the center console (C).
- Remove the screws (A, B) and disconnect the front console light connector (C), then detach the harness clip (D).
- Disconnect the auxiliary jack connector (see USB ADAPTER HOLDER/AUXILIARY JACK ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the bolts and detach the harness clip (A), then disconnect the rear console light bulb socket (B) and the console sub harness connector (C).
- Carefully slide the center console (A) backward and lift it up, then remove it.
- Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched.
