Alternator Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the air intake duct (see step 1 under FRONT BULKHEAD COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see USING THE GR8 BATTERY DIAGNOSTIC STATION ).
  3. Remove the engine cover (see step 1 under REMOVAL ).
  4. Remove the coolant reservoir (A) and the power steering fluid reservoir (B), then remove the holder bracket (C).

  5. Remove the drive belt (see DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT  ).
  6. Disconnect the alternator connector (A) and the positive alternator cable (B) from the alternator.

  7. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (C) from the A/C compressor.
  8. Remove the bolt (D) securing the harness holder.
  9. Remove the mounting bolt (A) and the alternator bracket mounting bolt (B), then remove the alternator (C).
