System Description: Overview: Notes

The active control engine mount (ACM) system reduces the amount of engine vibration (that creates engine noise) which is transmitted to the passenger's compartment.

The ACM system consists of the engine mount actuators, the engine mount control unit, and the powertrain control module (PCM).

The PCM sends the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor information and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor information to the engine mount control unit. The engine mount control unit uses this information to predict the amount of vibration created by the engine.

The engine mount control unit sends current for driving the ACM actuator to the actuator to the actuator and it operates the plunger to reduce the amount of engine vibration.
