Electronic Throttle Control System Description - Overview
The ETCS opens and closes the throttle valve by electronic control. This system consists of a throttle actuator built into the throttle body, throttle valve and throttle position sensor A/B, accelerator pedal position sensor A/B, ETCS driver built into the PCM and ETCS relay (in the auxiliary under-hood relay box) that supplies power to the ETCS driver.
The target throttle position is calculated according to the required engine torque, which is determined by the accelerator pedal, the PCU, and the VSA modulator-control unit.
