DTC P0AEE: Motor Power Inverter (MPI) Module Temperature Sensor Range/Performance Problem
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snap shot, and review the general troubleshooting information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- If the IPU module fan duct is blocked, DTC P0AEE may be detected.
- If the DTC cannot be cleared, do the troubleshooting for DTC U1204.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS (see DTC CLEAR ).
- Check and record the MPI TEMPERATURE in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
Is less than 221°F (105°C) indicated?
YES -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO -Go to step 4.
- Start the engine, and wait 10 minutes.
- Check the MPI TEMPERATURE in the DATA LIST with the HDS, and compare that temperature with the temperature recorded in step 3.
Is there more than 39°F (4°C) indicated?
YES -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO -Replace the MPI module (see MOTOR POWER INVERTER (MPI) MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), then go to step 6.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS (see DTC CLEAR ).
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC P0AEE indicated?
YES -Go to step 1.
NO -Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING .
