DTC U0038: IMA-CAN Malfunction (BUS-OFF (Powertrain Control Module (PCM)) (PGM-FI System): General Description

The integrated motor assist-controller area network (IMA-CAN) transmits/receives pulsing signals to/from the control modules simultaneously by using two signal lines (IMACAN H and IMACAN L). When the powertrain control module (PCM) does not receive the signals via the IMA-CAN lines for a set time, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
