Transmission Mount Bracket Replacement

  1. Do the 12 volt battery removal procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
  2. Remove the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT ).
  3. Disconnect the ECM/PCM connectors (A).

  4. Remove the harness clamps (B), auxiliary under-hood relay box A (C), and the ECM/PCM (D).
  5. CVT model: Remove the harness clamp (E).
  6. Support the transmission with a jack and a wood block under the transmission.
  7. Remove the ground cable (A) and the harness holder

  8. Remove the transmission mount bolts (C) and nuts (D), then remove the transmission mount bracket (E).
  9. Install the transmission mount bracket, and loosely install the new transmission mount bracket mounting bolts and nuts.
  10. Install the harness holder and the ground cable.
  11. Remove the jack and wood block from under the transmission.
  12. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
  13. Loosen the torque rod mounting bolt and nut (A).

  14. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  15. Tighten the transmission mount mounting bolts and nuts in the numbered sequence shown.

  16. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
  17. Tighten the torque rod mounting bolt and nut in the numbered sequence shown.

  18. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  19. Install the ECM/PCM with the ECM/PCM bracket. Then connect ECM/PCM connectors A, B, and C.
    NOTE: ECM/PCM connectors A, B, and C have symbols (A=□, B= , C=◦) embossed on them for identification.

  20. Install the harness clamps (D) and auxiliary under-hood relay box A (E).
  21. CVT model: Install the harness clamp (F).
  22. Do the 12 volt battery installation procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ).
  23. Install the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER ELEMENT INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT ).
  24. Do the ECM/PCM reset procedure (see IF THE MIL DID NOT STAY ON ).
