Oil Pump Overhaul: Removal
- Open the hood, and secure it with the hood support rod (A) in the wide-open position (B).
- Drain the engine oil (see ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the under-cowl panel (see UNDER-COWL PANEL REPLACEMENT ).
- Support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
- Remove the cam chain (see CAM CHAIN REMOVAL ).
- Remove the alternator mounting bolt, then install the support eyelet.
- Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256) onto the vehicle, and attach the hook (A) to the support eyelet (B). Tighten the wing nut (C) by hand, and lift and support the engine/transmission.NOTE: Be careful when working around the windshield.
- Remove the jack and the wood block from under the oil pan.
- Remove the oil pan (see OIL PAN REMOVAL ).
- Remove the oil screen (A), then remove the oil pump (B).
