Radiator Replacement

  1. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
  2. Drain the engine coolant (see COOLANT REPLACEMENT  ).
  3. Remove the splash shield (see SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
  4. Disconnect the ECT sensor 2 connector (A), and remove the A/C compressor clutch connector (B) from the clamp.

  5. Remove the harness clamps (C).
  6. Remove the lower radiator hose (A).

  7. CVT model: Remove the CVTF cooler hoses (B), then plug the CVTF cooler hoses and lines.
  8. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  9. Remove the intake air tube (A) and the resonator chamber joint (B).

  10. Disconnect the fan motor connectors (A) and the harness clamps (B).

  11. Remove the upper radiator hose (A) and the air intake tube bracket (B).

  12. Remove the coolant reservoir.

  13. Remove the upper radiator brackets (A), then pull up the radiator assembly (B) with the lower cushions (C).

  14. Remove the radiator fan shroud assembly (A), the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (B), the radiator cap (C), the drain plug (D) and ECT sensor 2 (E) (see ECT SENSOR 1 REPLACEMENT ) from the radiator.

  15. Reassemble the radiator with new O-rings (F).
  16. Install the radiator assembly (A). Make sure the lower cushions (B) are set securely.

  17. Install the upper radiator brackets (C).
  18. Install the coolant reservoir.

  19. Install the upper radiator hose (A) and the air intake tube bracket (B).

  20. Connect the fan motor connectors (A) and the harness clamps (B).

  21. Install the resonator chamber joint (A) and the intake air tube (B).
    NOTE: When tightening the screw (C) of the hose band, align the edge of the hose band (D) with the mark (E) painted on the hose band. If you tighten the screw over the mark, replace the hose band.

  22. Raise the vehicle on the lift.
  23. Install the lower radiator hose (A).

  24. CVT model: Install the CVTF cooler hoses (B).
  25. Connect the ECT sensor 2 connector (A), and install the A/C compressor clutch connector (B) to the clamp.

  26. Install the harness clamps (C).
  27. Install the splash shield (see SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT ).
  28. Lower the vehicle on the lift.
  29. CVT model: Refill the transmission with CVTF (see CVT FLUID REPLACEMENT ).
  30. Refill the radiator with engine coolant, and bleed the air from the cooling system (see COOLANT REPLACEMENT  ).
  31. Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
