Shift Lever Removal

  1. Remove these items:
  2. Shift the shift lever to R.
  3. Remove the nut (A) securing the shift cable end, and remove the shift cable end.

  4. Unlock the retainer (A).

  5. Rotate the socket holder retainer (A) counterclockwise (B) until it stops, and push the retainer lock (C) into the socket holder retainer to lock the retainer.

  6. Move the socket holder (A), then slide it to remove the shift cable (B) from the shift cable bracket (C).

  7. Remove the right center console panel mounting bolts and harness clip.
  8. Remove the shift lever mounting bolts.
  9. Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector (A) and the D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light connector (B).

  10. Remove the two mount bracket bolts (C) from the left shift lever mounting bracket.
  11. Remove the two mount bracket bolts (D) from the right shift lever mounting bracket.
  12. Remove the shift lever from the dashboard.
