The sensor determines the distance to the object in the following ranges and activates the warning indicators accordingly:
- From about 150 cm (59.1 in) if the object is a wall
- From 110 cm (43.3 in) to 70 cm (27.6 in)
- From 70 cm (27.6 in) to 55 cm (21.7 in)
- From 55 cm (21.7 in) to 45 cm (17.7 in)
- Less than 45 cm (17.7 in)
The display and the rear beeper are used to alert the driver, and the ON/OFF time varies as shown in the table below according to the sensed distance.

If more than one sensor senses the object, the beeper sounds in sync with the display of the sensor that is closest to the obstacle.
