ODS Unit Replacement: Removal

  1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
  2. Remove the front passenger's seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the front seat armrest (see FRONT SEAT ARMREST REPLACEMENT ).
  4. From under the seat cushion, release the elastic strap from the seat cushion frame springs (see step 2 on FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  5. Release the bottom hook, and unzip the seat-back cover (see step 4 on FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  6. Turn over the seat-back cover/pad to gain access to the ODS unit (see step 8 on FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  7. Remove the cover (A), then disconnect the ODS unit 18P connector (B) and the OPDS sensor connectors (C) from the ODS unit (D).

  8. Remove the two mounting nuts (E) and the ODS unit.
