WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2017 Honda Odyssey, 2016 Honda Odyssey, 2015 Honda Odyssey, 2014 Honda Odyssey, and 2013 Honda Odyssey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the steering column (see STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  ).
  2. Check these items:
    • Check the steering column ball bearing (A) and the steering joints (B) for play and proper movement. If any bearing is noisy or has excessive play, replace the steering column as an assembly.
    • Check the coat plates (C) for distortion or breakage. If there is distortion or breakage, replace the steering column as an assembly.
    • Check the tilt mechanism and telescopic mechanism for movement and damage.
    • Check the spline shaft (D) for smooth movement in and out. If the spline shaft is removed, slip it into the spline tube by aligning the paint or stamped marks (E). If it sticks or binds, replace the steering column as an assembly.
    • Apply multipurpose grease to the steering column.
NOTE: Do not use silicone grease.
