Audio Unit Removal/Installation

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
  • Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
  • Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
  • If you are replacing the audio unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), then enter them into the new audio unit.
  • Make sure you have the 5-digit anti-theft code.
  1. Remove these items:
  2. Remove the bolts (A) and bolts (B), then pull the audio switch panel (C) out.

  3. Disconnect the connectors, and detach the clip (D), then remove the audio unit (E).
    NOTE: There is a lever lock on connector A (F) (see HOW TO USE THE HDS (HONDA DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM)  ).
  4. Remove the screws and the pocket (A).

  5. Remove the bolts (B) and the brackets (C).
  6. Remove the screws, then remove the audio switch panel (A) from the audio unit (B).

  7. Install the audio unit in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Make sure all the connectors and the antenna lead are secure.
    • Give the new anti-theft code to the customer if the audio unit is replaced.
