Oil Pump Overhaul: Removal

Drain the engine oil (see '08-10 models J35A7 ENGINE ).
Remove the timing belt:
- J35A6 engine (see TIMING BELT INSPECTION )
- '07 model J35A7 engine (see TIMING BELT REMOVAL )
- '08-10 models J35A7 engine (see TIMING BELT REMOVAL )
Remove the timing belt pulley from the crankshaft.

- '08-10 models J35A7 engine (seeTIMING BELT DRIVE PULLEY REPLACEMENT )
Attach the chain hoist to the engine hanger on the power steering pump bracket (see step 2 on ENGINE INSTALLATION ).
Remove the rocker arm oil control solenoid/oil filter assembly (J35A6 engine) (see step 8 on CRANKSHAFT AND PISTON REMOVAL ) or oil filter base/oil filter assembly (J35A7 engine) (see step 9 on CRANKSHAFT AND PISTON REMOVAL ).
Remove the oil pan (see OIL PAN REMOVAL ).
Remove the oil screen (A).

Remove the mounting bolts and the oil pump assembly (B).
