D3 Switch Test

Remove the driver's side dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Disconnect the D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness connector.
Check for continuity between D3 switch/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness connector terminals No. 1 and No. 3 when pressing the D3 button.

There should be continuity when pressing the D3 button once, and there should be no continuity when pressing the D3 button again.
If the test is OK, connect the connector, and install the driver's dashboard lower cover. If the test is faulty, replace the D3 switch (see D3 SWITCH REPLACEMENT ).
