Water Pump: Installation

INSTALL WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY
1. Install a new gasket and the water pump with the 17 bolts.

  Torque:
  - 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) for bolt A
  - 23 N*m (235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf) for bolt B

INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

INSTALL COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Install the 2 idler pulleys with the 2 bolts.
  Torque: 39 N*m (398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf)
INSTALL WATER INLET
1. Install a new O-ring onto the water outlet pipe.

2. Install a new gasket onto the water pump.
3. Apply soapy water to the O-ring.
4. Install the water inlet with the 5 bolts.
  Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf)

5. Connect the 5 water by-pass hoses.
6. Connect the 2 radiator hoses.
7. Connect the 2 oil cooler hoses (with oil cooler).
INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL FAN SHROUD (See INSTALLATION )
INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 N*m (40 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf)
ADD ENGINE COOLANT (See COOLANT )
CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE (See REPLACEMENT )
INSTALL V-BANK COVER
1. Install the V-bank cover with the 2 nuts.
  Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)
INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUBASSEMBLY (for Pre Runner and 4WD Type)
1. Install the engine under cover with the 4 bolts.
  Torque: 30 N*m (306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf)
