Rear Seat Disassembly/Reassembly

Special Tools Required 

KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *

* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program; call 888-424-6857

NOTE:
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  • Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
  • The left rear seat is shown; the right rear seat is similar.
  1. Remove the rear seat assembly (see REAR SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Remove these items:
    • Head restraints
    • Center head restraint
  3. Remove the screw, then remove the recline upper cover (A).

  4. Remove the screw (A) and release the clip (B), then remove the center cover (C).

  5. Remove the bolts (A) and nut (B), then separate the rear seat-back (C) and the rear seat cushion (D).

  6. If necessary, remove the bushing (A) and pivot washer (B).

  7. Reassemble the seat-back and seat cushion in the reverse order of disassembly, and note these items:
    • Apply multipurpose grease to the moving portions of the recline adjusters.
    • Replace any damaged or stress-whitened bushing and pivot washer with new ones.
    • Make sure the bushing and pivot washer are installed correctly.
