Rear Window Wiper Control Unit Input Test
- Remove the left rear side trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA ).
- Disconnect the 8P connector (A) from the rear window wiper control unit (B).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.
- With the connector still disconnected, and make this input test at the connector.
- If the test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If the input test proves OK, go to step 5.TEST CONDITION TABLE
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained 1 LT GRN Ignition switch ON (II). Attach to ground: The rear window wiper motor should run. - Blown No. 9 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
- Faulty rear window wiper motor
- An open in the wire
- Reconnect the connector to the control unit, and make these input tests at the connector.
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit must be faulty; replace it.TEST CONDITION TABLE
