End Cover Removal

Mainshaft holder 07GAB-PF50101
NOTE:
The illustration shows the 4WD transmission; the 2WD transmission is similar.
- Remove the line bolt (A) and the sealing washers (B), and remove the ATF cooler inlet line (C).
- Remove the line bolt (D) and the sealing washers (E), and remove the ATF cooler outlet line (F).
- Remove A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A (G), the ATF joint pipes (H), the O-rings (I), the ATF pipe (J), and the gasket (K).
- Remove A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valves B and C (L), the harness clamp brackets (M), the ATF joint pipes (N), the O-rings (O), and the gasket (P).
- Remove the transmission range switch cover (Q).
- Remove the transmission range switch harness clamps (R) from the clamp bracket (S), and remove the transmission range switch (T).
- Remove the harness clamp bracket from the end cover (U).
- Remove the end cover, the dowel pins (V), the O-rings (W), and the end cover gasket (X).
- Install the mainshaft holder onto the mainshaft.
- Engage the park pawl with the park gear.
- Cut the lock tab (A) off each shaft locknut (B) using a chisel (C). Then remove the locknuts and the conical spring washers from each shaft.NOTE:
- Remove the mainshaft holder from the mainshaft.
- Set a two-jaw (or three-jaw) puller (A) on the countershaft (B) with a spacer (C) between the puller and the countershaft, then remove the park gear (D).
- Install a puller (A) with two 6 x 1.0 mm bolts (B) on the mainshaft idler gear (C). Set a spacer (D) between the puller and mainshaft (E), then remove the mainshaft idler gear.
- Remove the park pawl, the park pawl spring, the park pawl shaft, and the stop shaft.
- Remove the park lever from the control shaft.
