Special Tools Required

KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*

NOTE:
  • Take care not to scratch the body.
  • Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
  • Put on gloves to protect your hands.
  1. Remove the front wheel (see KNUCKLE/HUB REPLACEMENT ).
  2. Remove the screws (A, B) securing the front wheel arch protector (C, D).

  3. Release the hooks (A), then remove the front area of the front wheel arch protector (B).

  4. Pry up the rear portion of the wheel arch protector (A) with a trim tool at the clip locations to detach the clips, then remove the protector.
    NOTE: Take care not to damage the paint when detaching the clips. If the paint is damaged, repair it with touch-up paint to ensure corrosion protection.

  5. If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
  6. Carefully remove the remaining double-sided adhesive tapes from the body, then clean the body surfaces with a shop towel dampened in isopropyl alcohol.
  7. If you removed the spacers (B), carefully remove the remaining double-sided adhesive tape from the protector, then clean the protector surfaces with a shop towel dampened in isopropyl alcohol.
  8. Apply primer to the spacer attachment areas. Then attach the double-sided adhesive tape (A) to the spacers (B), and peel away the adhesive backing from the spacers.

  9. Line up the spacers with the alignment marks (C) on the rear area of the front wheel arch protector (D), and attach them with the adhesive tape.
  10. Hold up the rear area of the front wheel arch protector, and line up the clips with the body holes. Push on the protector until the clips snap into place, and the adhesive tapes sticks securely.
  11. Reinstall the forward portion of the protector and the screws.
