Power Tailgate Outside Handle Switch Test/Replacement
- Remove the tailgate trim panel (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA
).
- Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the power tailgate outside handle switch (B).

- Check for continuity between the tailgate outside handle switch 2P connector No. 1 and No. 2 terminals.
- There should be continuity when the tailgate outside handle is pulled.
- There should be no continuity when the tailgate outside handle is released.
- If the continuity check is not as specified, remove the two nuts, then remove the tailgate trim (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA
), and the switch.
