Disabling System: Notes

NOTE: Driver-side and passenger-side air bag connectors are automatically shorted when disconnected.

Before removing driver and passenger-side air bag modules, right and left side impact air bag modules or other SRS related devices (SRS unit, cable reel, side impact sensors and seat belt pretensioners), disconnecting connectors from related devices or removing instrument panel or steering column, disconnect air bag module connectors to avoid accidental deployment. Turn ignition switch to OFF position, disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning the following procedures:

Before disconnecting SRS wiring harness 18-pin connector "A" from SRS unit, disconnect driver- and passenger-side air bag module 4-pin connectors and right and left front seat belt pretensioner 2-pin connectors.
Before disconnecting SRS wiring harness 18-pin connector "B" from SRS unit, disconnect right and left side impact air bag module 2-pin connectors.
Before disconnecting cable reel lower 4-pin harness connector, disconnect driver-side air bag module 4-pin connector.
Before disconnecting SRS floor harness 4-pin connector, disconnect right and left seat belt pretensioner 2-pin connectors.
