Trouble Shooting
NOTE:
Before trouble shooting, check all applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSB).
NOTE:
For symptom troubleshooting see Fig 1.
- Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC is present, diagnose DTC. See appropriate DTC test under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS . If no DTCs exist, go to next step.
- Verify complaint by performing all of following:
- Using driver's switch, open and close both sliding doors.
- Using keyless transmitter, open and close both sliding doors.
- Using inner and outer handles, open and close both sliding doors.
- Check multi-fuse/relay box fuse No. 61 (30-amp) on 1999-2002 models, or fuse No. 81 (30-amp) on 2003-04 models. Check underhood fuse/relay box fuse No. 52 (30-amp). Check driver's underdash fuse/relay box fuse No. 9 (10-amp). Check passenger's underdash fuse/relay box fuses No. 1 (20-amp), No. 5 (20-amp) and No. 13 (7.5-amp). If any fuse is blown, locate and repair cause of blown fuse. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If all fuses are okay, go to next step.
- Open and close sliding doors again using all 3 methods and listen for warning beeper. If warning beeper sounded when each opening method was used, go to next step. If warning beeper did not sound when each opening method was used, go to step 6.
- Turn main switch off. Manually open and close both sliding doors and compare force used to open and close each door. If opening and closing force required was equal on both sides, go to next step. If opening and closing force was not equal on both sides, inspect door guides, rollers and cables on door that required the higher opening/closing force. Check for binding and obstructions. Repair as necessary.
- Perform power sliding door control unit input tests for appropriate sliding door. See SYSTEM TESTS .
