- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Are the back-up lights on when the shift lever is not in the reverse position?
- YES - Inspect the back-up light switch (see BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH TEST ).
- NO - Go to step 2.
- Shift the transmission to reverse.
Do the back-up lights come on?
- YES - Go to step 3.
- NO - Go to step 4.
Measure voltage between ECM connector terminal B10 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
- YES - The back-up light switch signal is OK.
- NO - Repair open in the wire between the ECM (B10) and the back-up light switch.
- Inspect the No. 10 METER (7.5A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
- YES
- Repair open in the wire between the No. 10 METER (7.5A) fuse and the back-up light switch.
- Inspect the back-up light switch.
- NO
- Repair short in the wire between the No. 10 METER (7.5A) fuse and the back-up light switch.
- Repair short in the wire between the ECM (B10) and the back-up light switch.
- Replace the No. 10 METER (7.5A) fuse.
- YES
