Brake Booster Replacement

- Remove the master cylinder (see MASTER CYLINDER REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose (A) from the brake booster (B).
- Remove the two brake lines (A) from the VSA modulator-control unit (B).
- Remove the lock pin (A) and joint pin (B).
- Remove the brake booster mounting nuts (C).
- Pull the brake booster (A) forward, and remove it from the engine compartment.
- Install the brake booster in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Tighten all mounting hardware to the specified torque values.
- Use a new lock pin when installing.
- After installing the brake booster and master cylinder, fill the reservoir with new brake fluid, bleed the brake system (see BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING ), and adjust the brake pedal height and free play (see BRAKE PEDAL AND BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH ADJUSTMENT ).
