Checking Fuel Pump Operation (Without Scan Tool) - CR-V

  1. Turn ignition off. Fold left rear seat cushion forward, and remove base frame cover. See Fig 1. Remove fuel pump access panel from floor. Turn ignition off and disconnect fuel pump 5-pin electrical connector. Locate PGM-FI main relay. See PGM-FI MAIN RELAY LOCATION  table. Using a jumper wire, connect PGM-FI main relay terminals No. 4 (Yellow/Green wire) and No. 5 (Yellow/Green wire) together. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between body ground and fuel pump 5-pin electrical connector terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Green wire). If battery voltage is available, check fuel pump ground circuit. If ground circuit is okay, replace fuel pump. If battery voltage is not available, check wiring harness between PGM-FI relay and fuel pump harness connector.
