Variable Valve Timing: Notes

All except Accord DX (F23A5 engine), Civic DX (D17A1 engine), Civic HX (D17A1 engine) and CR-V are equipped with variable valve timing. Variable valve timing improves low-range to mid-range torque at low engine speeds. At higher engine speeds, variable valve timing increases power output while retaining fuel economy. All variable valve timing systems are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

NOTE: Information not available for variable valve timing system on Civic HX (D17A6 engine) with VTEC-E Lean Burn.
