Self-Diagnostic System

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

There are 2 self-diagnostic routines ABS/TCS control unit can perform. Initial diagnosis is performed when engine starts until ABS or TCS indicator light goes off. Regular diagnosis is continuously performed right after initial diagnosis until ignition is turned off. When a problem is detected, ABS/TCS control unit shifts to fail-safe mode.

When ABS/TCS control unit detects a problem and indicator light comes on, ABS/TCS control unit will store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). If a fault is repeatedly detected, only one DTC will be stored for that fault.

When retrieved, DTCs are displayed in ascending number order, not in the order they occur. DTCs are stored in EEPROM (nonvolatile memory) and will not erase if power is lost to ABS/TCS control unit.
