TCS Function

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

TCS system improves accelerating ability from a stop on slippery road surfaces, and improves traction when one drive wheel is on a slippery road surface. If a drive wheel loses traction on slippery surface and starts to spin, ABS/TCS control unit sends brake signal to modulator unit which applies brake pressure to slow the spinning wheel. At same time, ABS/TCS control unit sends engine retard signal to PCM to prevent damage to the transmission. ABS/TCS control unit controls TCS system based on signal inputs from throttle position sensor, engine speed sensor, shift position sensor and wheel sensors.
