Service Circuit Signal (SCS) Method

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle speed is 6 MPH or less, Service Check Signal (SCS) circuit is shorted to ground and brake pedal is depressed before turning ignition on.
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect Honda PGM tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under driver's side of instrument panel, near center console. See Figure .
  2. Using Honda PGM tester, short SCS circuit to ground. Depress brake pedal. Turn ignition on while depressing brake pedal. After ABS indicator light goes off, release brake pedal.
  3. After ABS indicator light turns on, depress brake pedal again. After ABS indicator light goes off, release brake pedal. After a few seconds, ABS indicator light blinks 2 times and DTC is cleared.
  4. If ABS indicator light does not blink 2 times, repeat steps  13 . If ABS indicator light stays on after it blinks 2 times, a problem was detected during initial diagnosis before ABS/TCS control unit shifted to DTC clearing mode. Retrieve DTCs. See RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES  .
