Service Circuit Signal (SCS) Method

NOTE:
Ensure vehicle speed is 6 MPH or less, Service Check Signal (SCS) circuit is shorted to ground and brake pedal is depressed before turning ignition on.
- Turn ignition off. Connect Honda PGM tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under driver's side of instrument panel, near center console. See Figure .
- Using Honda PGM tester, short SCS circuit to ground. Depress brake pedal. Turn ignition on while depressing brake pedal. After ABS indicator light goes off, release brake pedal.
- After ABS indicator light turns on, depress brake pedal again. After ABS indicator light goes off, release brake pedal. After a few seconds, ABS indicator light blinks 2 times and DTC is cleared.
- If ABS indicator light does not blink 2 times, repeat steps 1 - 3 . If ABS indicator light stays on after it blinks 2 times, a problem was detected during initial diagnosis before ABS/TCS control unit shifted to DTC clearing mode. Retrieve DTCs. See RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES .
