Defogger (Canadian Models)
- Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door panel. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect 2-pin power mirror switch harness connector.
- Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, check voltage between power mirror connector terminal B2 (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to step 4. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Check for blown fuse No. 9 (7.5-amp). If fuse No. 9 is okay, check for open in Yellow/Black wire between fuse No. 9 and power mirror switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Also check for poor ground connections at G401 and G402. Repair as necessary.
- Using jumper wires, connect power mirror switch connector terminal B1 (Orange/White wire) and terminal B2 (Yellow/Black wire) together. Both mirrors should warm up when ignition key is turned on. If both mirrors warm up, check defogger switch. See POWER MIRROR SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If only one or neither mirror warms up, go to next step.
- Check Orange/White wire between defogger switch and inoperative defogger. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Disconnect inoperative power mirror connector. Using DVOM, check continuity between power mirror connector terminal C2 (Black wire) and ground. If continuity exists, replace mirror assembly. If continuity does not exist, repair open or poor ground contact in Black wire between power mirror connector and ground.
