Retrieving Trouble Codes

NOTE: DTCs may be retrieved by flash codes or by using Honda PGM tester connected to Data Link Connector (DLC), located behind access cover on right front of console.
NOTE: DO NOT depress brake pedal during DTC retrieval procedure. Depressing brake pedal during procedure will cause DTCs to erase.
  1. Locate SCS service connector 2-pin connector behind passenger-side of center console. Install fused jumper wire or SCS Service Connector (07PAZ-0010100) between service check connector terminals. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on. Ensure brake pedal is not depressed. Record blinking ABS indicator light sequence. See Fig 2 .
  2. When ignition is turned on, ABS indicator light will turn on for 2 seconds, then off for 3.6 seconds before blinking first DTC. See Fig 2 . See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES INDEX  table. If a DTC is not set, ABS indicator light will turn off for 3.6 seconds then turn on and stay on.
  3. If light flashes DTCs, conduct appropriate test procedures. See DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  . If light does not flash DTCs, go to ABS INDICATOR LIGHT REMAINS ON, BUT DOES NOT FLASH TROUBLE CODES  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. After DTCs have been retrieved, turn ignition off. Remove fused jumper wire or SCS service connector.
