System Tests: Notes

Before testing keyless entry/security system functions, trouble shoot multiplex control system. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS in appropriate MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEM article. If problem exists, repair multiplex control system and recheck keyless entry/security system. If multiplex control system is okay, perform system test on control unit suspected of being faulty.

If any input test is not within specification, locate and repair problem, then recheck system. If all input tests are within specification, one of the control units must be faulty. Replace suspected control unit with known-good control unit and retest system. If problem no longer exists, replace original control unit. If problem still exists, replace other control units with a known-good unit and retest system.
