Anti-Lock Brake System: Description

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is designed to prevent wheel lock-up during hard braking, allowing driver to maintain vehicle control. System consists of ABS control unit, 4 wheel sensors, modulator unit, warning light, master cylinder, power booster assembly and connecting wiring. Modulator unit contains pump motor, reservoir pump, inlet and outlet solenoid valve, and damping chamber. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
