Test Equipment

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1999 Isuzu Oasis, 1998 Isuzu Oasis, 1998 Honda Prelude, 1998 Honda Odyssey, and 1998 Honda Civic. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

All voltage tests should be performed with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless specifically stated differently in testing procedure. When instructed to use a jumper wire, ensure an in-line 5-amp fuse is included.

Use 2 Backprobe Sets (07SAZ-001000A ) to probe Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors when directed by troubleshooting procedures. See Fig 1. For PCM connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . DO NOT  puncture wire insulation.

Engine compartment connectors are sealed on wire side of connector. Backprobing engine compartment connectors can cause damage to connector seals and possible connector terminal failure. To test wires, disconnect specified connector and touch tester probe to specified connector terminal. Inserting probe into connector terminal will damage terminal.
