Cruise Control Unit Input Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect cruise control unit 14-pin connector. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Inspect connector terminals and control unit terminals for damage, loose or corroded terminals. Repair as necessary, and test cruise control operation. If connectors and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Using a DVOM, perform cruise control unit input tests. See Fig 1 . If any input test indicates a problem, locate and repair circuit as necessary. Road test vehicle and test cruise control operation. If all input tests prove okay, replace faulty cruise control unit.
