Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

A DTC is stored when a problem is detected and ABS indicator light does not go out, or when ABS indicator light comes on during vehicle operation. A DTC is not stored when ABS indicator light comes on unless CPU is activated. ABS control unit can store any number of DTCs. When the same DTC is detected more than once, the older DTC is replaced and only one DTC is recorded. DTCs are displayed in ascending order, not as they occur. Because DTCs are stored in EEPROM (non-volatile) memory, they cannot be erased when battery is disconnected.
