Intermittent Failures

An intermittent failure means that a system may have had a malfunction, but is okay now. Intermittent failures may cause Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) to flicker or illuminate and go out after the intermittent fault goes away. The corresponding DTC will be retained in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) memory. Intermittent failures may be caused by sensor, connector or wiring-related problems. See INTERMITTENTS in TESTS W/O CODES article.
