Mode Control Motor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Honda CR-V and 2000 Honda CR-V. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect mode control motor 7-pin harness connector. See Figure . Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage to terminal No. 1 and ground terminal No. 7 of mode control motor. See Figure . To avoid motor damage, DO NOT reverse power and ground. Go to next step.
  2. Using an additional jumper wire, jumper terminal No. 7 to terminals No. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of mode control motor one at a time, in that order. Mode control motor should operate smoothly and stop each time a connection is made. Go to next step.
NOTE: If mode control motor does not operate when first terminal is jumpered, jumper it once more after the other terminals are jumpered. Mode control motor is okay if it operates when jumping first terminal.
  3. If mode control motor does not test okay, remove it and check for binding mode control linkage and/or door. See MODE CONTROL MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Repair as necessary. If no problems are found, replace mode control motor.
