Set/Resume Switch

  1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM - 1995 or AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM - 1996 article. Disconnect cable reel sub-harness 3-pin connector from main wiring harness.
  2. Turn SET/RESUME switch on. Using DVOM, check continuity between cable reel sub-harness 3-pin connector terminals No. 1 and 2, and terminals No. 2 and 3. See WIRING DIAGRAM  . Continuity should be present. If continuity is not present, go to next step.
  3. Remove SET/RESUME switch. See SET/RESUME SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn SET/RESUME switch on. Using a DVOM, check continuity between switch terminals No. 1 and 3, and terminals No. 1 and 2. If continuity is present, replace cable reel. If continuity is not present, replace SET/RESUME switch.
