Idle Speed & Ignition Timing

IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS (1)

Automatic Transmission 680-780
Fast Idle 2000-3000
(1) Idle speed is set with headlights and cooling fan off and automatic transmission in Drive.
IGNITION TIMING (Degrees BTDC @ RPM)

Application Setting
Base Timing (White Mark) 4 @ 600-700
Advance Timing (Red)
Carbureted
Auto. Trans. (1) 13-17 @ 680-780
Man. Trans. (2) 22-26 @ 750-850
Fuel Injected
Auto. Trans. (1) 13-17 @ 600-800
Man. Trans. 13-17 @ 700-800
(1) Auto. trans. in Drive.
(2) Advance timing is 18-22 degrees BTDC on California vehicles.
