Ignition Control Solenoid Valve: Test II

  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Disconnect 6-wire connector from emission control box. Connect voltmeter positive lead Black/Yellow wire terminal of connector and negative lead to White wire terminal of connector.
  2. Check for voltage with engine at idle. If voltage is not present, replace solenoid valve and retest. If voltage was available, inspect for short in White wire between solenoid valve and ECU. If wire is okay, refer to TESTS W/O CODES article in this section.
