Code 14, Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV)
- Turn off ignition. Remove "EFI/ECU" fuse in under-hood relay panel for 10 seconds to reset ECU. Start engine and observe warning light. If light is off, problem is intermittent. Test drive and check again.
- If light is on, turn ignition off. Disconnect Electronic Air Control Valve (EACV) connector. Check resistance between the 2 connector terminals on valve.
- Resistance should be 8-15 ohms. If not within specification, replace EACV. If resistance is within specification, proceed to next step.
- Check for continuity to ground on each EACV connector terminal. If continuity exists, replace EACV. If no continuity exists, reconnect EACV connector. Connect system checker harness between ECU and ECU connectors. Start engine. Measure voltage between terminals B3 (pos.) and B16 (neg.). If voltage is present, substitute a known good ECU. If condition is rectified, replace original ECU.
- If voltage is not present, measure voltage between terminals B2 (pos.) and B16 (neg.). If voltage is present, substitute a known good ECU. If condition is rectified, replace original ECU. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Blue/Red wire between ECU terminal B3 and EACV or Yellow/Black wire between ECU terminal B2 and EACV.
