WARNING: Before disconnecting fuel pipes or hoses for testing or parts replacement, it is necessary to relieve fuel pressure from system to avoid risk of personal injury or possible fire hazard.
  1. Disconnect battery negative cable. Place a box end wrench on 6 mm service bolt at top of fuel filter while holding lower banjo bolt with another wrench.
  2. Place a rag or shop towel over bolt. Slowly loosen service bolt 1 complete revolution at a time. Always replace washer between service bolt and banjo bolt whenever service bolt is loosened to relieve fuel pressure. Replace all sealing washers whenever bolts are removed to disassemble parts.
