Fuel Pressure Regulator
The fuel pressure regulator maintains a relatively constant fuel pressure to injectors. The spring chamber of regulator is connected to intake manifold to maintain fuel pressure at 36 psi (2.55 kg/cm2 ) higher than pressure in manifold. When difference between fuel pressure and manifold pressure exceeds 36 psi (2.55 kg/cm2 ), diaphragm is pushed upward, and excessive fuel is fed back into fuel tank through return line. Unregulated fuel pressure is 35-41 PSI (2.46-2.88 kg/cm2 ).
