Choke Opener

  1. With engine cold, disconnect upper vacuum hose from choke opener. Install a "T" fitting and connect a hand vacuum pump/gauge to upper hose connection.
  2. Start engine and check for vacuum. At higher than 59°F (15°C), vacuum should be available. At lower than 59°F (15°C), there should be no vacuum.
  3. If vacuum tests are not as specified, check for blocked or pinched vacuum hoses. If hoses are in good condition, replace thermovalve.
