Throttle Body
The throttle body is a 2-venturi side-draft type with the primary air horn at the top. The lower portion of the throttle body is heated by engine coolant to prevent icing in winter. The primary throttle valve has a throttle opening sensor located on its shaft. This sensor senses changes in throttle position and signals the ECU where programmed adjustments can be made to the fuel injection system.
On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, a dashpot is used to prevent abrupt closing of the throttle during gear shifting.
