Idle Controller
NOTE:
The idle controller attached to the throttle linkage is operated by manifold vacuum and keeps idle speed from dropping when air compressor is running. Vacuum is controlled by an idle control solenoid valve.
- If idle controller does not operate with air conditioner on, disconnect vacuum hose from idle controller and check for vacuum. If there is vacuum, replace idle controller.
- If there is no vacuum, check for voltage at idle control solenoid valve. If there is no voltage, check wiring and control unit.
- If there is voltage, disconnect hose routed to intake manifold at idle control solenoid valve and check for vacuum. If there is vacuum, replace idle control solenoid valve.
- If there is no vacuum, check vacuum line to intake manifold and repair or replace vacuum line or clean intake manifold as necessary.
